Who Can Submit?
atmedstu.com accepts submissions from:
- Medical students at all stages of their undergraduate course
- Intern medical officers
- Junior doctors in postgraduate training
Submission Categories
- Educational Articles — Structured learning content covering clinical topics, ward skills, or exam-relevant areas
- Case-Based Discussions — A clinical case with structured discussion and learning points
- Case Reports — Unusual or educational clinical cases with appropriate consent
- Research Summaries — Summaries of relevant research, with proper referencing
- Audit Summaries — Clinical audit findings written up for educational sharing
- MCQs, SEQs, OSCE Questions — Exam-focused questions with explanations
- Reflections — Reflective writing about medical training or clinical experiences
Writing Standards
- Write in clear, accurate English.
- Use medically accurate and ethical content.
- Avoid patient-identifiable information. Use patient anonymisation consistently.
- Include references when scientific or clinical claims are made.
- Use generic names for medicines where possible.
- Avoid unsupported personal opinions. Support claims with evidence or accepted clinical guidelines.
- Clearly state whether the article is educational, case-based, research-related, or exam-focused.
- Accept that submitted content may be edited for clarity, structure, and educational value.
- Understand that atmedstu.com provides review before publication, but this is not formal peer review.
References
References should be included wherever scientific or clinical claims are made. Use a consistent referencing style (Vancouver, APA, or similar). Clearly number references in the text and list them at the end of the article.
Patient Confidentiality
Important: All patient-identifiable details must be removed or appropriately anonymised before submission. For case reports or case-based discussions, authors must confirm that adequate consent has been obtained where required, or that the case has been fully anonymised.
Consent
For case-based content involving real patients, authors must confirm that either:
- Written consent has been obtained from the patient, or
- The case has been fully anonymised such that identification is not possible
Originality
Submitted work must be original and must not have been published elsewhere. Content that has been submitted to or published in another journal, platform, or publication will not be considered.
Review Process
All submissions are reviewed by the atmedstu.com editorial team before a publication decision is made. The review considers medical accuracy, educational value, clarity, ethical suitability, and relevance. This process is not formal peer review.
Authors will be notified of the editorial decision by email. Submission does not guarantee publication.
After Submission
After submission, the editorial team may:
- Accept the submission as is
- Request revisions before publication
- Decline the submission with brief feedback
